Party Commission
The Festival Commission wants to pay tribute of admiration and tribute to the National Teacher of this town D. Victoriano Martínez Francés, printing the drawing of Saint George that he did in the year 1883, exactly one hundred years ago and of whose work a large number of lithographed copies were made, that nowadays many bathing houses preside.
Maestro Martínez was born in Bañeres on 30 October 1846.
As anecdotal data we will highlight that he was Captain of the Comparsa Cristianos this same year of 1883, costing you the sum of 4.200 real "party that has never been seen", according to calligraphic note of the same Master. Captain with him was his brother Francisco, Canon of the Cathedral of Valencia.
