Visit to the Art Paths Exhibition

At the end of the celebration, the preacher will sign the Golden Book of the Brotherhood of St. George at the headquarters of the entity. 18 In September, the visit organized by the Brotherhood of Sant Jordi to the exhibition took place “Art Paths” Alcoy.

A total of 124 people, which were divided into four groups to visit the different venues of the exhibition: the Parish Church of Santa Maria, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Abandoned and the Chapel of the Old Asylum of the Poor and Abandoned Elderly.

It was possible to observe the magnificent work done in the restoration of the buildings that house the exhibition and some of the works, which were in a state sufficiently deteriorated by time and external agents.

Among the many works on display there, it was emphasized in the originating ones of our locality: the reproduction of the Monument to Sant Jordi, owned by this Brotherhood, a silver pedestal with the figure of Saint George and the raincoat of the Tern of Saint George that the politician Canalejas gave away at the beginning of the 20th century, both pieces of our Parish.

Also from a cabbage·private lesson in Oviedo, a quarter that belonged to the altarpiece of the old High Altar of our parish could be observed, work of Reixac and of great beauty.

The Brotherhood of St. George would like to thank all participants in this visit, their participation and col·collaboration. Així com espera que disfrutaren de totes les magnífiques obres vistes en l’exposició.

També volem agraïr a l’organització de l’exposició, la seua ajuda en la preparació d’esta visita.
