Suspension of the festivities of the Relic of St. George 2021 – 08/07/2021
On Thursday 8 of July of 2021 the Ordinary Meeting of the Sant Jordi Festival Commission has been held, with the intention of assessing the situation of the Feasts of the Relic of St. George 2021, due to the health situation of the Covid-19.
After having held a meeting organized by Undef with the Minister of Health by videoconference and taking into account that a complicated health situation continues to arise, with measures that would not allow us to celebrate our holidays normally, the Commission of Celebrations UNANIMOUSLY has decided to suspend the Celebrations of the Relic of Sant Jordi of 2021.
However, we want to inform that the Brotherhood of Sant Jordi will carry out the celebration of the religious acts that can be realized fulfilling with the measures that the sanitary authorities dictate in that concrete moment.
We always recommend a lot of responsibility, and especially in those days. Celebrations with family and friends who do not comply with the measures in the private sphere should be avoided. We need to take care to be able to celebrate all together when the time comes.
The Sant Jordi Festival Commission and the Sant Jordi Brotherhood want everything to happen, to celebrate again and celebrate as we have always known how to do, take to the streets and party in capital letters.
