The Major Mass on Sant Jordi's day will be presided over by Il·lustríssim Sr. Jesús Soriano Murgui, bishop emeritus of Oriola-Alicante. He completed his priestly studies at the Metropolitan Seminary of Valencia, located in the municipality of Montcada, being ordained priest the 21 September 1969, subsequently graduated in Theology from the Pontifical University of Salamanca and also obtained a doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in the city of Rome.

As a priest he was coadjutor between the years 1969 i 1973, from the last year to 1979 he was diocesan councilor of the Junior Movement, also from 1973 Until 1993 he worked as rector in different parishes belonging to the Archdiocese of Valencia. He was coadjutor of the parish of the Assumption of Our Lady in Alaquàs, between 1969 i 1973, i, later, of 1973 a 1976, rector of the parish of Our Lady of Olivar in the same town. of 1975 to the 1979 he was again a diocesan councillor, but this time for the organization Acció Catòlica.

The 25 of March of 1996 Pope Joan Pau II, appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Valencia, receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders on the day 11 of May of the same year, in the hands of the then Archbishop of Valencia Mons. Agustín García-Gasco Vicente and having as co-consecrators al, then archbishop of Barcelona, cardenal Ricard Maria Carles i a, then apostolic nuncio in Spain, Lajos Kada, until between December of 1999 i April 2001 obtained the position of apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Menorca, succeeding the ecclesiastic Francesc Xavier Ciuraneta i Aymí, until the year 2001 was succeeded by Bishop Mons. Juan Piris Frigola. later, the 29 December 2003, was appointed by Pope John Paul II as the new titular bishop of the Diocese of Mallorca taking possession of the position on 21 February 2004, where he succeeded Teodoro Úbeda Gramage as bishop, and also the 27 of July of 2012 Pope Benedict XVI at the same time the Diocese of Oriola-Alicante, where he took office as bishop in the Cathedral of Oriola and succeeding the previous bishop Rafael Palmero Ramos, who had submitted his resignation to the pope for reasons of age, being succeeded in Mallorca by the new bishop Javier Salines Viñals, and maintaining the position of the Diocese of Oriola-Alicante until 7 December 2021, day on which Pope Francis accepts his resignation after reaching the age of seventy-five, as ordered by the Code of Canon Law. At this moment, he becomes Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Oriola-Alacant and is named Bishop Elect of this Diocese Monsignor José Ignacio Munilla Aguirre, transferred from the diocese of San Sebastian. In the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE) Jesús Murgui started as a member in the year 1996, where he has belonged as a member of the Episcopal Commission for the Clergy since 1999 Until 2005 where he currently belongs to the Liturgy Commission.
