The Image of our Patron Sant Jordi Martyr who presides from 1947 his altar in the Parish Church of Santa María is a polychrome wood carving, golden and silver, of great proportions, 2,35 mts. tall, which represents the Saint on horseback throwing the dragon. Made in 1940 by the sculptor José Villalba Rafel from Barcelona; Feel the cost of the order of 15.000 ask.
Donated by Víctor Miguel Sempere Castelló, she was blessed on 31 August 1940, organizing a solemn procession that began at 17,00 h., from the old factory of D. Bartolome Sempere, located in Calle Laporta, nº 40, to the Parish Church.
The 23 d'April 1980, sent President Octavio García Payá, began to participate in the Solemn Procession of Sant Jordi attached to the float that had been recovered years before.
