It has not been possible to repair the vault of the Sant Jordi cruise

Once the leak and broken wooden beam on the deck of the Sant Jordi cruise was repaired last September, and having already passed several months in which, despite the last winter storms, spring and early summer no water or moisture has entered, The Confraternity of Sant Jordi has started the work of repairing and re-decorating the damage in the internal vault of the cross of Sant Jordi.

To be able to start this repair work, the Confraternity has once again counted on the Art i Restauració d'Algemesí company, the same one that restored the image and the tabernacle of Sant Jordi earlier this year.

The work will be undertaken using a self-supporting electric platform to be much more economical than the assembly of a scaffold, since the cost of renting it would far exceed the cost of the work to be done.

The works include scraping, masillat, compact, protection of the vault and the finishing of the existing decoration with the same color and false gold decoration on the already existing layer of mision.

Unfortunately, when the self-bearing platform was already in the church, it had to be removed due to the poor condition of the pavement. Vibrations had been observed that suggested the worst, which has forced us to give up on our intention to have the leak repaired for the next feast of the Relic of the day 5 September.
