The restored Sant Jordi float on display

On Saturday 9 March, it took place in the courtyard of Casa Abadia, the exhibition of the old tractor, the new tractor and the stage of the recently restored Sant Jordi float, accompanied by different panels that described the restoration process carried out.

The surprise of Saturday morning was when the old tractor refused to move (we have to move it to the courtyard of Casa Abadia) Will he be angry to stop being the protagonist and have to pass the baton to the new one? After a few attempts that yielded little fruit, in the end we would have to push him until he caught “correntella” and help him move.

In the General Meeting of the Brotherhood held that same evening - to which the quasi were invited 1.800 Feast of Sant Jordi Patron Saint of Banyeres de Mariola- José María Juan Baldó, on behalf of the company Magnificart Restauradors, he briefly explained the work carried out, commenting - among a whole set of technical details- that the restoration had been carried out with the idea of maintaining the existing one and not of making new parts. Needless to say, José María Juan Baldó and his sister Rebecca, bernenses fincats a This, they were the ones who carried out the restoration, as well as Magnificart Restauradors receiving the award that same week “Young Entrepreneurs” from Bancaja (being one of the 5 awarded companies)

A curiosity is that the new tractor has been equipped with an infrared camera (to be able to see in low light conditions) and a screen so that the driver's lack of visibility goes to history.

Another curiosity is that it seems that every time we take the float out into the street, it ends up raining at the final moment. This Saturday was no exception: the transfer to the place where it is kept was done under the water that at that time was falling in Banyeres, and both the current driver of the float and the old tractor, they ended up enduring the rain once more.
