WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE CEMETERY EVENT

The festivities of the Moors and Christians of the town and, in a special way, the unique act in honor of the deceased that is celebrated on the last day, have been included in “Hidden heritage”, an exhibition on the intangible heritage of the Valencian Community that is shown in the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and which was inaugurated on Thursday 1 June. It includes celebrations of twelve towns of the Valencian Community: the carnivals of Éguera, Belgium, Vinaròs, Villar del Arzobispo i Pego, the Living Passion of Sagunto, “the floured ones” d'Ibi, St. Gregory Pa Beneit of the Tower of the Maçanes, “pilgrims” of the Users, the Santatonada of Forcall, the Mojiganga of Titaigües, and the Banyeres festivities.

HIDDEN HERITAGE

The sample addresses the concept “hidden heritage” as that cultural heritage not officially recognized through a declaration of Cultural Interest, but which has relevant cultural characteristics that convey the identity of the town that sustains it, could be material or immaterial. The activities included by the University in the sample have taken into account that they are traditions of special interest for their cultural potential, tradition, uniqueness and social impact.
