“The future belongs to those who
have faith in it”.

old english axiom.

The idea was given to me by a young student the night of the entrance of
Moros y Cristianos last year when he asked me who was that beauty whom he had just respectfully and courteously greeted. my answer was blunt, quick and easy at the same time: “That lady is THE PARTY QUEEN.”

He looked at me skeptically not believing what he had just heard
and asked: “THE QUEEN OF THE PARTIES?" Effectively, I answered when I saw his disbelief, and when I was going to explain my assertion, he apologized with the excuse of being late to go out with his troupe in the Retreta. He made me promise to tell him more calmly and I gave him my word of honor that I would be willing to tell him the story.. Time has passed and I have not seen the Student again, but as "what is promised is debt" I take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Festival Program of our beloved town to keep my word.

The famous decade of the sixties of the last century ended when
the Moors and Christians entrance went from lasting about two or three hours to almost twice as long and many people stopped witnessing the beautiful spectacle, so a solution was sought and it started precisely from the Comparsa de Piratas, which was then the last to parade. as they tell me, the promoter of the idea of electing a Quinceanera Queen and her Maid of Honor, who would parade last was D. Ferdinand Blanes
San Juan, founder and Captain of the Comparsa de Piratas. The initiative soon had the acceptance of the competent bodies and at the beginning of the year 1969 the beautiful Miss Mª Fernanda Blanes Verdú was elected and proclaimed Queen of the Town Festivities in the Principal Theater and whose maintainer was the prestigious lawyer D. Antonio Ferre Miró.

All the comparsas were in charge of electing a Maid of Honor to represent them and that is how it came about that we had a Queen of the
Parties. Since then, were the following beautiful ladies:

1970. Luisa Linares Sanchez
1971. Susy Doménech Albero
1972. Mª José Fernández LLedó
1973. Mª Teresa Ferre Ibáñez
1974. Maria Rosario Albero Bernacer
1975. Mª del Carmen Francés Albero
1976. Maruja Puig Gandia
1977. Filo Pérez Camús
1978. Luisa Fernanda Ferre Domenech

And now, dear friend student, you already have a rough idea of the wonderful decade where our people, your town, had all those years a queen of the parties. You are still in time to ask and know much more than what my memories have offered you.. In the Party Programs of all those years you will find much more to know and learn. SEIZE IT!.

Year 1979 the Proclamation of Fiestas was given by the chronicler Andrés
Banon Martinez, with him the cycle of THE QUEEN OF THE PARTIES ended; from then to today illustrious personalities have delighted us, excited and transported to a wonderful festive world, but, in confidence, dear young student, in our heart we will always have a QUEEN OF THE PARTIES.

Dedicated to all the Queens of the
Parties and their Bridesmaids.
