The sample “Art Paths” offers a tour of the history of the region through its heritage. A total of 256 artworks, 108 of which restored for the occasion, They are exhibited in the churches of Santa María, the Mare de Déu and the Asylum, serving as a guide to spiritual devotions, festive cycles and architecture. The three temples have also undergone a comprehensive rehabilitation process in recent months., so that by themselves they justify the visit. Las 256 pieces on display, between paintings, sculptures, goldsmith, tissues and documents, They mostly come from parishes, hermitages and local institutions of 36 municipalities of the region, although there are also some from the Valencia Cathedral Museum, the Museum of Modern Art of Catalonia, the Museum of Fine Arts of the capital of Turia and the Masaveu Collection of Oviedo, among others.
The exhibition discourse features pieces by such prominent artists as Llorenç Zaragoza, Bertomeu Baró, John Reixach, Juan de Juanes, Cristobal Llorens, Nicolás Borrás, Jerónimo Jacinto Espinosa, Francisco de Zurbarán, Joaquín Sorolla, Fernando Cabrera, José Segrelles, Benlliure, Gozalvo, Boix and Ferrero.
The three exhibition venues are located in the historic center of the city. St. Mary's Church, which, due to its dimensions, houses the 90% of the works, presents a set of pieces representative of the patterns, popular religiosity and the annual cycle of festivities. The old Asylum for the Elderly and the Homeless Poor reflects the festive cycle of Christmas, with a rich iconography of the Holy Family and the Kings of the East. In the chapel of the Mare de Déu, by last, you can see a set of wall paintings made in 1851 by Vicente Castelló Amat, in addition to a side-port canvas with the image of Our Lady of the Forsaken, from the same time, discovered and intervened by La Luz de las Imagens technicians during the building recovery works.
