The Confraternity of Sant Jordi de Banyeres de Mariola presented yesterday Sunday the edition of the book "Ja arriba Sant Jordi a Banyeres de Mariola", a children's tale in which the story of the Patron is narrated through an adaptation by Vicent Berenguer Micó and Clara Berenguer Revert, i them he·illustrations by Josep Miquel Martínez Ferre.
The project, which has had the financial support of the City Council and a few local companies, aims to bring the life and legend of the Saint closer to children, showing this through images and events that occurred in Banyeres scenarios. After being presented, an audiovisual was offered with the reading and the projection of the images from the story.
The screenplay adapter was present, Vicent Berenguer, as well as the il·polisher, Josep Miquel Martínez, who commented on the lines of their work.
The rector Ricardo Díaz also spoke, the president of the Festivals Committee, Vicente Terol, that of the Confraternity of Sant Jordi, Jorge Enrique Esteve, the alcalde Antonio Belda. In his speeches, he noted the importance of the edition carried out, both for its role as a preserver for devotion to the Patrón and for being the first to be addressed in a special way to the children's audience.
In addition to thanking the companies and institutions that have col·worked with the Brotherhood in the edition, the organization paid tribute to the children who were baptized with the name "Jordi" during 2008.
