The brotherhood of S. Jorge, which was founded to promote, cultivate and take care of everything that is related to our patron saint S. Jorge Martyr, remains faithful in his task, The morning offered us a great accumulation of emotions when listening to the general tolling of bells, contributing with their effort and work to the greatest good and splendor of our festivities, festivities that the Villa de Bañeres dedicates every April to its famous patron, the martyr S. Jorge.
With the collaboration of the entire Brotherhood, entities and locals all, festive or not, The Brotherhood has been carrying out not only the traditional events of our festivals, but has been carrying out a whole series of companies: dressing room construction, image of the saint, you, banner, retablo, restoration of the same, new order of the procession, saint's carriage, etc., etc., always with new enthusiasm and enthusiasm.
We are aware that we have received from our elders an invaluable legacy that is everything related to S. Jorge and his parties. This legacy is so rich and varied that for this reason, most of the time it is not sufficiently known.. Reviewing everything received we have seen a whole series of acts, that as an old legacy they had remained, not lost, but somewhat forgotten in the great chest of our parties: cultural events, like concerts, theater... acts that due to the evolution of the festival had been postponed and completely forgotten.
The Brotherhood has made it its own to rescue this entire series of acts and offer them again to our people., acts that will complete, if possible, the great richness and variety of our festival.
When it came to incorporating them, we saw that it was impossible to include them in the middle of the festivities.. Impossible due to the density and grandeur of our party. Maybe before? Neither. It's not the right environment. The nervousness, The preparations and proximity of the festivities are not the most suitable place for this type of event..
So they don't fit anymore, these acts, at our parties? Yes. But after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Within the incomparable framework of the novena. Not in the rich and varied explosion of our incomparable festivals. No, trying to put something in a place that is no longer suitable. And, in the calm and peaceful setting that surrounds the days of the novena, calmed the nerves and agitation, typical of the holidays. With a calm spirit and at the same time calm and satisfied with everything experienced in the previous days. Like a quiet haven, like a soft rain that slowly soaks us and soaks us, after the bustling noise of the holidays. We believe that it is a worthy end to our festivities within that calm atmosphere of the novena.
We believe it is a way to recover something very much ours.. They are like a few more brushstrokes that complete that majestic painting of S. Jorge and our parties. This Brotherhood has committed itself to this task., who puts all his effort into working as much as possible for our Patron Saint and the best good of our festivities. It is with real enthusiasm that we offered the first program of cultural events last year and with new enthusiasm and renewed effort we want to continue on the path we have taken..
