PROJECT "A"
MEMORY
This project aims to cover and respond to a series of motivations and needs. For this he has conceived it broadly in two different facets, complementing them; the first and most important is to put it at the level of the feeling of a people, of the essence of a community. The second is to give it a functional character at the same time in order to respond to real needs..
Fundamentally it is conceived to pay tribute to the "Fester", and all its theme revolves around him without losing sight of the character of the monument and the recite in which it is located. It has also been a reason for study to be able to speak to later generations of our traditions and cultural moment; for which it has to meet certain conditions in terms of materials that make it survive the times, at the same time that in the present it infuses all the idea of eternity.
Regarding its aesthetics, what is mine, it is my thought that art is not a fashion, but something much deeper in man and for which he has to coexist with a time, but not get displaced in later stages.
Passing in a particular way to the symbolisms and generalizing now in this idea, I have thought that the Monument has to be sober and balanced in its theme and realization, strictly attending to the truly deep things without getting lost in superficialities.
Thus we have that the main idea of it lies in its central frieze, in which the eight elements of our party are represented; that is to say, the festeros who in a resting position, with solemn expression, glorious, that perhaps only God grants to those around him, they watch with their bronze weapons the eternal rest of the festive community; and at the same time they are an integral part, they will be present as elements of honor, in that great Mass that unites us 25 April each year. A) Yes, in them I want to represent the highest and deepest moment of our religious festive manifestation. They, with his expression filled with emotion, they will be the mirror, the ideal, the feeling of all of us.
Under the frieze they are engraved and corresponding to each celebrant the emblem of each comparsa as an allegorical element.
In the front part and in the center of the platform surrounded by bleachers, is the table to celebrate; is the element, as I have already mentioned, that gives functionality to the whole; This Table will be dedicated to our distinguished patron and we will call him "Altar of San Jorge". In its central anterior part it will carry a large circular medallion representing the PATTERN, that in no way could he be absent from this manifestation, since it is not only the axis of our Party, but also the Guide of our people. A) Yes, in this way, the altar gives us the possibility of celebrating Mass in the same Monument.
Now to finish defining the previous part, have, as the top of the Monument and in its highest part, another constant of its theme: the idea of "Resurrection", this that, in the end, it is the lighthouse that guides all our earthly activities. This idea is represented by the Angel, what with their 2,5 meters of wingspan and with open arms towards the sky, seems to rise from the column that supports it; His gaze is directed to the Almighty as in a plea for mercy for all, but also with the assurance that the group he commands will come to fruition. It is, how we see, the coronation of the Monument, that has also worried me a lot about his height, since with the present, nine meters, this Angel will be seen from all over the cemetery, and without adequate means, from many points of our town, as a symbol.
Yes, at the rear, I have thought that this one has a life of its own, since I understand that a Monument does not have to be just a point of view, rather it has to be a surrounding whole; A) Yes. Thus, that I have given a role fundamentally of testimony. In the column that supports the Angel we see the symbol of our faith, or the cross, that crosses its surface and speaks of our beliefs. On both sides of the column and attached to the facing, we see other elements of testimony: the coat of arms of Bañeres that you speak of our historical rank, and that of the Festival Committee. Both representatives of the patronage of the company; then, under them will be placed the inscriptions that will sign the work with all the feeling.
Preceding all this we find another important part of the whole, that is, the garden area. I also dedicate a lot of attention to her and I want to give her an important role, a life role; because in all the enormous mass of the Monument it is the only real life that it contributes together with the other spiritual life that we give to the representation of the ancient elements; A) Yes, well, we have a final result: life and eternal life.
This real life will be represented by eight small cypresses or similar trees of similar nobility., that will correspond to each comparsa and that will give the Monument an ascending dynamic sense, that will grow over time as our Party and will be exceptional witnesses in future times.
